This is a major NPC from my campaign, as an example NPC. His lack of twists, linear personality, and excessive focus leave him unsuitable as a PC. Feel free to use him or someone based off of him in your own games.
Buon is intended as a way to supply a group of players with needed stringtech engineering, while acting as an obstacle to any sort of progress. He also acts as a wonderful red herring, as he tends to attract attention to himself. Buon is defined by his “It’s My Tech Damn It!” CV. It reflects his belief that anything he makes or designs is fundamentally his. He expects to make full profit from his efforts, and to share none of that profit with anyone who didn’t have a hand in the engineering side of things (he completely discounts everything which isn’t engineering). Also, he is exceedingly paranoid of people stealing his ideas.
As an engineer, Buon is brilliant. As a manager, he’s overdemanding and egotistical. As an employee, he’s paranoid, selfish, and harbors an undying hatred for anyone who isn’t an engineer (managers and marketers especially). Being a mechanican, Buon’s body is a good reflection of how he wants to be seen. Specifically, as a huge armored bug-like thing the size of a forklift with massive claws (and numerous delicate-work arms).
If the inspectors do some background research, Buon has a colorful past. At minimum, he’s been accused of patent infringement by a company shortly after he quit (you can decide whether he was guilty or not). Buon is incredibly good at making enemies wherever he goes. Whether this ties into your plot is entirely your call.

As an NPC, Buon has no twists. He’s also missing his third CV (being an admittedly flat character). Naturally, you can fix these things if you feel like it.
