Right now we have a contest going on for civilizations to be put into a supplement. If you'd rather not have yours considered for inclusion, please put that information somewhere in your post. Civs designed for that contest should go into the folder under "Challenges & Contests"

Societies based on other people's work (e.g. one based on Ian M. Banks' Culture) are definitely welcome here, but are disqualified from the contest thanks to intellectual property rights.

I propose a sub-forum for adapted civilizations. No offense Pilgrim, but when someone new logs into the Fan Civs I'd like them to first be greeted by the originals.

Heck, on that note, I'd even like sub-sub forums for the different fiction sources; in a very positive sense, I'd love to be able to see that I can find adaptations from Alpha Centauri here or from the Vorkorsigan series there.

I second this on both accounts. We're getting a bit cluttered with civilizations which aren't ours, and having categories for system-converted civs would make it easier for multiple people to collaborate in converting entire universes over to SA.
