So, for the extra damage, do you recalculate the roll you made using the String 10?
An example revisited:
//My Stringtech 4, Nanotech 4, Soldier 5 Patent Inspector gains an anti-matter gun (p133) from a colleague with a more advanced civilisation to use in an attack on a patent violator. The anti-matter gun is a Stingtech 7 weapon that has an Energy Descriptor, and is stated as doing damage at Stringtech 10, with an extra 2 points of reserve lost because of the explosion.
He rolls his nanotech and Soldier in his physical attack, getting 4x6 = 24 and 5x3 =15, taking the 24. His opponent rolls his Stringtech 6 and Police 2, getting 6x3 = 18 and 2x9 = 18, so the contest is initially won. The opponent looses 2 reserve, plus an extra 2 for the explosion. Recalculating the winning roll with Stringtech 10 gives 10 x 6 = 60 = 2 extra reserve lost as 2 multiples higher than the opposed roll. Hence a total of 6 reserve is lost.//
Q4. Is that right? If not, can you give an example back?
Q5. If so, I take it I substitute the stringtech damage for the Soldier related roll if that is the one I use?
(Realise the energy transparent comment was silly now I read it. It was late at night. Looking at the descriptors again I see that there are none that obviously block each other.)
