I'm not sure it's a good mesh with Sorcerously Advanced, but it gets into high magic and the sort of societies that can evolve under the pressures before the Gift. It can also give you some ideas for what you can do with magic with an admixture of science (the canal building and similar would be explicitly projects/rituals under the rules) also what you can get up to with silicon, aluminum and oxygen and lots of power and magical direction is amusing (sapphire bathtubs anyone?). Or the Commonweal's tubes and the various red and black shots.
Anyway, food for thought.
