Unless I'm wrong about tinfoil and microwaves, but I don't think I am:
I'd heard about this. It was the effect that microwaves have on neurons that caused a lot of people to wear tin foil under their hats (the "Soviet Orbital Mind Control Laser" was supposed to actually be a maser, although we all know it was really a massive psychotron, right? lol). They'd also done some testing using radio transmissions, the major problem being that radio waves don't interact that strongly with our brains (they don't tend to interfere with electronics except for transceivers, which our brain isn't).
For a while a company in Japan was trying to market a set of headphones that used, if I remember correctly, subsonic carriers to confuse the ear into thinking the body was imbalanced. It would pulse this effect to the rhythm of the music. End result - the headphones forced you to bob your head to the tune of the music.
I'm glad this technology is coming back into vogue. I'm sure that it will be used to the betterment of humanity and will lead to a free, open, and honest society. If my sarcasm isn't evident, then it should be. ;-p
