Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett
It's a new book and pokes at industrialized magic (at least as much as the Craft Sequence). It's so new that it doesn't even have a tvtropes page (quelle horreur). But there is a decent goodreads page where the author adds a few notes.

Overall, I liked it. I don't think it plays to the big world shaking stuff Colin is mucking about with, but it's still pretty good. The bits with gravity could be used for warfare or industry. And scriving to objects could give some insights into what alchemy does to objects.
