It's mentioned briefly in the SA2 beta text that the Stored are, due to high levels of Cognitech (it becomes available at Cognitech 4, I believe?), prone to vast disconnects from analogue space. This makes sense, considering that the tech description for Accelerated Cognition in terms of difference is this:
"Characters with enhanced Cognitech can often think
dozens of times faster than the unenhanced. This improves not only
logical thought but creativity and productivity as well."
So if we go with, say, three or four dozen times faster, that means 1 second in analogue time would be 30 or 40 seconds to the Stored, here. If this is too much, and we're talking about an even dozen or even just two dozen, then you still have 10 or 20 seconds for every 1.
This means that, subjectively, the Stored as a civilization are many times older than most other civilizations aside from the Aia. In the least extreme example, someone who is 75 years old in analogue space would be approximately 750 years old in the Stored infosphere. In the most extreme, they'd be 3000 years old in the Stored infosphere.
What implication does this have on their growth as a civilization? How has this influenced their technological development (besides being, in general, the one with the highest Cognitech)?
I'd ask why there are so few of them, but they probably keep the numbers low to conserve processing power.
